Hiya all,

Been on here for a while now and never did a Readers' Ride.
My 57 plate track grey FR TFSI has been traded in, but this was it:

Then we got Leona, our 2011 Leon FR CR170 BTCC, later remapped to stage2 with DPF delete.

Off Adam's Autolights Store, eBay username xiz5921

From Canada but only took a working week to get here.

There are others on fleabay but I liked these carbon ones. The quality seems spot on and it's a good fit.

Comes with pre-cut 3M double sides stickies which seem to do the trick

Looking good Patrick! :) Are you going to spray the bottom part of the rear valence in black?

Cheers

Not sure actually... I'll have to photoshop it to see what it's like.
It'll be a wrap job anyway. Also in two minds about gloss black, as the roof is carbon.

Finally fitted black wing mirrors

Provided primed from Dave @ Sere and then:
1) light sand
2) gloss black spray coat
3) 1500 grit wet sand
4) gloss black coat 2
5) 2000 grit wet sand
6) gloss black coat 3
7) clear lacquer coat 1
8) clear lacquer coat 2

...mostly so many coats because I messed up so often and the nozzle of my spray can was CRAP!

Hi Patrick,

Just tried to find the ebay place you purchased the paddle extensions and he has closed shop! - damn!!

I purchased some recently from fleabay but they would not fit, think they were for a golf and the paddle was more curved etc. Do you have a pic of yours before you fitted them so I can see the back of them?

Really want a set but cannot find ones that confirm they will fit my car (2007 Leon TFSi DSG).

Thanks

Gary

very, thanks Patrick.

Think my paddles are differnet,. they are flat on the back, not curved. I had the ones in the photo and they would not fit.

Thanks for posting the pic,

Gary

Oh that's weird. I would have guessed it was all the same. Hope you find one that fits!

Car is looking good mate, love the gloss black mirror caps hehehehe

Cheers! Up close they're not 100%, but I'm not a good painter and I had crap cans :(

Shnazzle's 2011 FR BTCC CR170

Surpassed my wish list stage 1 remap and went straight for 2.

A healthy 210hp and about 332ftlb for you figure junkies.
Standard figures and graphs looked pretty damn smooth anyway. Go SEAT! 174.8hp and about 270ftlb straight out of the factory.

I expressly asked for low smoke, so I'm sure the guys at Sedox could have pulled out some more, but in the meantime I'm damn near smokeless unless I boot it.

Drive is an absolute treat. MPG figures have been amazing so far today, a good 5-10 mpg more depending.

Inversely...10mpg less when I get it over 3500rpm ;)

The power delivery is great. There are few tiiiny little lumps and bumps at high revs though but it seems more like a DSG fail. I'll have to give them a call. No big dips in power at all.

Town driving is much smoother and overtaking on duals is....fun ;) hehe

Loooovely
