I'd get the dealer to remove them, unless you really really really like them.

It's not just a case of removing the stripes as it can leave marks. If the dealer does it and it leaves marks they should fix it at their cost, otherwise if you did it yourself you could be landed with a big bill to sort out the paintwork.

They will go out of fashion really quickly, I've already seen a fair few basic cars with stripes and I think "Why???". The Cupra is a lovely car but why make a 20 odd grand car look like a car worth a quarter of the money (based on new prices).

Hi cfcmick,

Yeah, definitely off!!

I've copied a link to 'chrisboyle999's' car with a black roof.

It's the most awesome sight I've ever seen on a white Leon/Cupra.

It continues up from the windscreen and looks all for nothing like a glass roof - wicked:D

I think it looks quite good if you carry on the black onto the spoiler like i've got on mine.

Sorry for the poor image, it's the only one i've got taken on my phone. been meaning to take some better photos for a few weeks.

i'm liking that!
didnt realise there was so many black roofed cars out there.

dean, i dont suppose you could post a close up photo of where the black meets the white paint please. i'm interested to see how good a 'join' can be made.

thanks in advance.

No prob, I'll take a couple of photos in a bit.

I thought I was the only one round my way (Brum) but was parked up at Star City the other week. Came back to my car only to find parked next to me a white leon FR TDI, body kit, black alloys, black roof all the same as mine. Managed to get a quick chat to the owner as i was driving off. he'd only had the car 2 weeks, think he may have had the roof done as a sticker from something he said but didn't get a chance to look closely as it was just something he mentioned as i drove off. only difference was he just had the main bit of the roof done and he had the K1 exhaust where as i've got the twin exit, one either side.

Personally I think they suit the shape of the car, a lot more so than stripes on a Focus or Fiesta and especially the Black on White. Keep em on.

I think if you like it leave them on , its your car and you are the only 1 that should have the opinion , if you want a change you could always take them off.
Just my opionion.

this is what i was going to suggest :p
no comeback if it goes wrong if you have a go at taking them off ;)
just inspect the area very closely when you go to collect and point out anything other than perfect!
it's then down to them to get it right!

what about this version?

Chris,

Is this your car? I tried to find the 'supercopa' vinyl but the only place I found selling them has stopped! Does anyone know where I can get these?

I have a black car and think black vinyl will catch the light differently, making a nice effect

no mate, not my car (or my cup of tea to be honest).

any decent vinyl company should be able to copy the design if you show them the pics.

are you thinking of black check's on black car?

Thanks to everyone that replied & voted

The dealer caught me on the hop earlier in the week.
Phoned me Monday to say I could pick the car up Tuesday.
I mentioned removal of the stripes to them....
Usual.."Well if we damage it then we're liable" reply.
They wasn't having any of it.

So I have the car in my possesion complete with stripes at the moment.
I'm not coping out but they have grown on me a bit.
And they do look different in the flesh :fool:
My Son (18) loves it but my Daughter (14) is not too keen on them.

So for now they're staying on

With the plethora of candy K1s, I think you are right in leaving them on. I went with K1 to have a head turning car, it seems i may have to go a step further now :p
