Service costs

My 2001 LCT is up for its 80K service. Due to the lack of Seat stealers near where I work I looked for a reputable garage and they quoted me £240 using all original parts.

Does that not sound a bit pricey to you guys? The chap I spoke to said the spark plugs used were £44 alone!

Also, when I start the car from time to time it's in limp mode which is cured by a bit of driving, turning the ignition off, then starting it up again. Any ideas?

I've changed the primary Lambda recently as it came up with an error in VAGCOM. I'm stumped though now!

thanks guys. I've got it booked in with the people I mentioned as they are near my workplace and they have all the diagnostic software etc. Bought a couple of the bits and peices myself from a friend at a motor factor to reduce costs.

I'll just go with the local guys for ease of getting there etc. Will bear them in mind though if I need anything more serious than just a service.
