Regardless of any results I will never ever in my life buy a tuning box. He could come back saying he set a new land speed record when travelling to Australia and back in one tank....I still wouldn't go near one.

If a tuning box could turn your car into a ultra frugal powerboat and back we would all have one :p!

On a serious note, I hope the box works out for the guy. It won't get anywhere near the figures he suggested it might, but if it works for him then so be it.

Tbh I would just like to see a genuine honest reply , he has been told by the tuning box manufacturers it will produce x amount of bhp then it should give or take a couple , but having said that, if it does produce 222bhp I will eat my shoes

It wouldn't surpise me too much if it did get near the power claimed, but for me that's not really the point, it's the hooky way it does it which others have explained that make it not worth the money or risk imo

I wouldn't be surprised if it does get close to the quoted power. Maybe not quite the numbers mentioned above but certainly similar to remap figures.

If the box is calibrated correctly it should be able to manipulate the ecu in to injecting enough fuel and providing enough air to make the power. They aren’t your typical 10 resistor mods

My biggest problem is that the ecu has no idea what it is doing, all safety routines go out the window, DTC's etc won't flag up when they should etc etc. So yes, when these cars are new and fault free, they are great. I'm not so sure how they will perform in a few years’ time when typical age related problems with sensors etc. start to occur.
