Ummm.... the turbo'd leons have an almost non-existent exhaust note even with aftermarket kits. Dont be folled by thinking the bigger the bore the bigger the noise.... you lose all the back pressure and not only is their no noise, but you lose from your torque figure.

Powerflow is the way to go as long as you have a good dealer near you. Dont settle for a bodge job. If you have anything done, have it done properly.

I disagree with the above - my supersprint cat-back/milltek hi-flow cat/dp combo make the car sound a bit louder.

I've also heard a blueflame exhaust, and its MUCH louder than mine.

Unfortunately though, its hard to get sound clips - you drive past your mic on the side of the road and some plonker thieves it before you get back!

Mines not hugely different, but just gives more of a growl when you put your foot down. The blueflame certainly sounded louder than mine.

i thought blueflame only made exhausts for the LCR
i used to run a blueflame on my gt-four, was a great system

well admittedly one blueflame was on an LCR, and one was on an ibiza cupra, both of which, IMO, sound the same as the LC when std.... but both of which, with a blueflame, were much louder :)

I have the supersprint cat back and I noticed the difference from stock, I do understand the comment above about turbo'd cars not being so loud as say a non turbo car but, there is a difference however.

I did start to do a video/sound clip of before & after but only did the before i.e. stock, I have not done the after i.e. supersprint as yet. If I get chance ill try and do this.

most turbo cars sound very loud wen they have an aftermarket exhaust poppin an bangin and really rev loud ie scoobys. evos, cossie etc etc but the vag 1.8t engine isa bit more suttle due to it not bein aimed at the "boy/man racer market"as much as say cossies scoobys skylines etc

Yeah, thats pretty much all i was saying. dont expect a Scooby-esque rumble from the exhaust.

The Mrs just got her boot well cut out to accommodate two full size backboxes sporting 5inch tips (not Jap style, jap style exits are for jap cars not VAG) and to be honest, i havent heard a 1.8T that is louder.

The bigger the bore, will give you a deeper sound, I have a Powerflow system and it sounds great! Don't worry bout losing back pressure as these are turbo cars after all so this is not a problem! Anything up to 2.5" straight through will only increase your torque! Mine was 200 lb/ft with just the exhaust and BMC cda!

Hi DPJ how you doing buddy?
that blueflame sounds sweet! I think it is even better then my supersprint, sounds quite deep! is it a full system?
Cheers. Turboback with 100 cell cat - but it's a custom job with a dual rear. :D
It sounds fabulous inside the car when it's booted, but at high speed cruising it's relatively unobtrusive.
