hi there my first post so please bare with me,
So just purchased a 2008 seat ibiza s 3 door, the car was good priced just needs a few things doing to it. so the two main things that i can tell for now is that the passenger seat won't fold so will always have to use the drivers side, when i pull on the handle nothing happens so i don't know what to do about that,
secondly the instrument panel, the circle with the speed is cracked, was just wondering is it possible to replace just the clear plastic or will i have to replace the whole instrument panel if so is it simply plug and play.
sorry if i missed any information out still getting used to it all.
any help will be appreciated
thank you

Maybe have a look in this parts listing site, https://ifinterface.com/page/page3.php?langid=2

From there click on "CarProg2" and take it from there.

That will let you see if you can just buy a new plastic cover, a bit of work would need to be done to fit another instrument assembly in there.

The folding seat problem, I can't help there - does the release handle action feel "lighter" on the side that does not work, if so then the cable etc will have come off or snapped so I'd guess that you will need to remove the seat and investigate from underneath - if it has side air bags, the seat will have an electrical connector on it, though I suppose it will have one for the seatbelt warning as well. So, disconnect the battery, wait 20 minutes then unplug the connectors under the seat.

Remember as your car is a Mk5 look in the 6J section and not the 6L - being a 2008 reg'd car and a Mk5 you should be looking under year 2009 6J as it will be a 2009 model year car.

The link I have given you takes you to the VW section of the parts listing by default, just select SEAT from the top menu bar.

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me, so for the instrument panel I'll try getting just the plastic will have to just navigate my way around that site, but thanks for the link
I did make a mistake and mine is a 2009 (59 plate) vehicle,
As for the seat when I try releasing the handle it does seem really light, and I would say that the outer side of the seat becomes free but the other side doesn't want to move at all, so will probably have to take it out to inspect,
With the speedo it's only like £30 for a used one should I just buy that or try repairing this one?
Once again thank you

I think that you will find that the clear plastic screen/cover is not available by itself, and it looks like you can get that screen off after the instrument pod has been removed, so I'd think that your best plan will be to buy a used pod cheaply as long as it has a perfect or good enough screen/cover and swop them over.

Yep been looking all day and couldn't find it at all so going to buy the whole unit and jut swap it all over, sourced one cheaply too, tomorow I'll try getting the seat out too,
Any chance does anyone know where I could find a guide to remove a wing panel ?

With the instrument pod, try swapping just the plastic rather than the whole instrument pod. I can't remember if the dash or the ecu holds the mileage If the dash does, you will have to get the mileage set and many places don't like doing it.

Had the same issue with the seat on my old MK4. The bracket holding the cable down inside the seat snapped, the cable just moved around without pulling the latch. I had to pull the seat material up enough and use a big cable tie to hold it down. Worked fine ever since.

Thanks for getting back to me,
So I purchased an instrument panel today the guy I brought it from said I might need to get it coded in, and I'm not sure where the mileage is recorded on, so I'll try plugging this one in first and see what happenes, of not then I'll just change the plastic housing over,
As for the seat I reading that I will need to get the fabric off and have a look behind to see what's happening when messing about with it I noticed that there like a Metal kinda wire hanging out so might just be loose, I'll have a look properly tomorrow or get someone to have a look at it for me.
