Seat HU, 6x9 and Sub

Hi,

I have a question which I just need confirming, can't quite find the exact answer.

Currently my entire sound system is standard. I have a sub from my old car in the shed as well as some 6x9's which I would like to fit.

My question is:

1) How do I wire up my 6x9's? Do I just disconnect the rear speakers and connect them up to that and if so, is there really much point in that? Is there anyway to have both running?

2) Does the standard Seat Aura HU have the right input connectors on to be able to connect the sub straight to it via the red & black cables (sorry dont know what they are called)? If not, what would I need to use to be able to achieve this?

3) Finally, If I was to change the Aura HU, would I be able to connect a new HU it to the Seat CD Changer if the HU had the appropriate connections? If so, what connector would this need to be?

Thank you very much for any response received, sorry for all the questions but I hope this will also help people in the future in the same situation.

I dont think the CD changer will work with an aftermarket headunit.
If you are wanting a good setup I wouldnt touch 6x9's, I would get a good set of components for up front running off an amp and use the rears for rear fill just off the head unit, then fitting the sub and amp that will be running the sub.

If you are after a cheap setup then 6x9's can be fitted but I dont think the standard seat speakers are that shape so would have to be moddified to fit. You wont be able to have the rears and also the 6x9's as the head unit will only have outputs for 4 speakers, and if you tap into the rear speaker cable and try connect both off the one channel it will cause damage to the head unit as you will be changing the speaker load.

You could disconnect the rears and extend the wires if your 6x9's are on the parcel shelf and connect them.

I doubt the headunit will have an input for an amp, I may be wrong sure someone will clarify, what do you mean by the red and black cables do you mean the RCA (phono) cables, they connect to the amp not the sub.
