Slang for what?

Your implication that a Spanish worker cannot work a computer or that internet is not available is as racist.

Far from it, the SEAT factory in Martorell is one of the most efficient, and produces some of the highest quality cars in VAG. That say's allot about the workers, many from around the world. But, their ordering system currently does not give order updates or tracking ability for the customer.

SEAT were known a few years back for getting everything last in the VAG group, due to their financial position and how VAG saw them.

If I had said a JLR worker...

As ever, everything is open to interpretation, but check Pedro out on the urban dictionary, no actual race attached to the term... Certainly no racist connotation, which I take offence to TBH.

Is it worth changing from a 1.4 150 to the 1.8? The demand seems to be the 1.4 engine, so surely it'll speed it up slightly?

Apparently the EcoTsi currently adds about 8 weeks to the build although my Broker mentioned yesterday that SEAT seem to be sorting themselves out and lead times are recently becoming more reasonable whatever that means.

Nope, the 1.4 EcoTSI 150PS currently adds an additional 10 weeks onto a Leon order (according to the Production & Supply updates from SEAT). The FR specification (with standard 17" Alloys) adds an additional 8 weeks onto a Leon order so they may have got confused between the two.

With other models (Ibiza/Ateca/Alhambra) they have come down a little with their lead times but the Leon unfortunately is subject to the longest lead times out of all the models :(

Which make it strange that Seat have dropped the Leon ST's advance payment on Motability from £499 last quarter to £149 this quarter, beginning of October.

They know they have a long lead time on a model then just make the model more attractive to certain customers!

Oh wow that's good - sorry I don't deal with Motability so didn't know about that.

I understand what you mean, it's happened with the CUPRA's aswell....fantastic support behind the model on Contract Hire but a 25-27 week lead time :(

You've been called out. A carefully edited post with a link to an open source slang dictionary doesn't mask your original meaning. TBH take all the offence you like.

I used the urban dictionary to see if it was actually racist, as I have used it for years on here, as a humerus name for SEAT. Pedro is actually a Mexican name I believe.

If I had said John instead of Jaguar with the same content, would that have been racist?

So yes, I will continue to take offence, as I am being censored and "called out" for a comment you perceive to be racist... That is me over and out, you have your opinion, I have mine!

Hi everyone, just seen this thread and thought I'd give you all a little advise. I work for a Main SEAT Dealer and yes - the lead times on the models (especially Leon) are quite long, solely down to volume of sales worldwide and some specifics of the Leon being listed on what's called a 'Items with additional lead time' list.

This list features on the 'Production & Supply' update we receive from SEAT every week, giving us information on Lead Times of the models. The reason behind SEAT releasing these bulletins every week is things can change week from week - so these bulletins give Dealers a good idea of what to advise their customers.

To give you an idea, if you placed an order on a CUPRA 2 weeks ago the lead time advised was approx. 18 - 20 weeks (15 - 17 weeks for Leon, +3 weeks for CUPRA as CUPRA adds additional lead time). Last weeks bulletin advised CUPRA now adds +10 weeks onto a model lead time, so if you ordered a CUPRA last week the lead time advised was approx. 25 - 27 weeks (15 - 17 weeks for Leon, +10 weeks for CUPRA).

I would highly advise if any of you are worried about your order lead time, ask your Dealer to advise what information displayed on the 'Production & Supply' update at your time of order. This information changes all the time so the lead times now may be completely different to when you originally placed your orders.

In terms of Dealers not having information on build weeks, again - this information is supplied by SEAT supply team directly onto the ordering system (SLi). If your order has a long lead time, it is possible that your vehicle order hasn't yet been given an expected build week - let alone a confirmed build week. Even then, expected build weeks change all the time as they're 'expected'. I have orders which I placed for people back in July which still have no information showing what so ever (Without Production Week).

The process of status updates are as follows:

Status 00 - Without Production Week

(Order has been accepted by Factory but hasn't yet been given an expected build week)

Status 10 - With Production Week

(Order has been given an Expected build week) Please note that this can change a lot throughout the order

Status 20 - With Production Order

(Order has been given a confirmed build week) This is the week the vehicle will be built in

Status 30 - In Transit From Factory

(When the car is in transit from the factory)

Status 40 - At UK Port

(When the car has arrived at the UK Port)

This is the stage when a dealer can also provide you with a registration number

Status 60 - In Transit to Dealer

(Car is on transporter to dealership)

Status 70 - At Dealer

(Car has arrived at Dealership/Dealership's compound)

In summary, if you're worried, get onto your dealers for the information I highlighted earlier in my 'essay' lol. I personally send screenshots of the ordering system to my customers (regarding their order) so they have piece of mind that i am not lying to them about the lack of updates we're currently experiencing from the Factory however that's just the way I work and I understand that not everyone is the same.

Anyway I hope this helps :)

Excellent information - I will be asking the supplying dealer about the current Status code number of 'our' Leon order sometime soon if needed, so thankyou.

Been patient since order placement last October, but it would be nice to have some ongoing info at least, even if it's a case of - 'No chance until late May mate'.

Thanks for such a comprehensive explanation, it’s not always something you get when your order a new car but this definitely helps.

I ordered my New Leon ST Cupra 2 weeks ago. I was told 16-20 weeks, I am hoping it stays in this timeframe as I will need the car desperately by the 20 week point.

I shall definitely chat with the dealer and ask for an update to see where they are at.
