Hi, the cars three months old and during .the first couple of weeks had several incidents of the locked/frozen/black screen issue. Had the software updated at the dealership and it been working fine until today.

Set off and working fine. Filled up with fuel and at restart the dreaded black screen returned. Found a lay-by and switched off and on and no improvement.
Travelled 22 miles, went shopping and 3 hours later started the car and it’s fixed itself again.

Anyone out there with a fix as the dealers have no further technical updates available?

I did try the long reset press on the on/off button but made no difference.

Cheers

Hi next time it happens please check how hot the screen is with your hand. If it feels hot then it’s in protection mode to stop it over heating and causing further damage. There might be a problem causing the screen to over heat but Sod’s law when the dealer looks for a problem its working fine at the time of testing.

Thanks for your reply, however the car had only been running for ten minutes before I stopped and when trying to operate/switch off the screen it was cold. I think it’s probably the software gremlins again as it’s reset it’s self and worked fine for the rest of the day.

Only thing that’s changed was an automatic software update that got installed via the car last weekend. Perhaps that’s got something to do with it?

Cheers
