Hi chaps, just wondered if anyone can help me with this.
I set off in my car the other night, i turned it round at the top of the road and came back down the hill, i heard something rattling under the car, like metal on metal and it sounded like it dropped off.
Now, when i put my foot down in like 1st,2nd&3rd and its pulling hard liike a train, i get this vibration that shakes the car, and i can feel iton the pedals, i also get a "wuuuuurr"ing noise when its pulling, it sounds like somethings loose and moving backonto something when i give it some. Has anyone had anything like this before? :(

have you checked all pipes? As mine made the same wurring noise as you call it ,i found a split hose from the pcv valve to the inlet mani so i fitted a catch tank and removed the pcv and the split hose and the noise has stopped for now! Might be this???

a mate of mine had a mk3 a while ago, and the nut that holds the front engine mount on had snapped off.

This caused the engine to tilt back when booting it, and the cambelt cover to touch the brake (or might of been clutch) master cylinder, and rub on the cam belt.

Which gave a wurrring sound.

Hopefully it won't be this, but something to check.

Hi chaps. Thanks for all your advice. The mechanic couldn't see anything wrong, but obv there was something wrong. So I jacked the car up and got underneath, staright away I saw that the front lower engine mount was not there, so I went down to the place where it mist of come off, luckly it was on the side of the road but no bolt, I managed to find a bolt with the correct thread. Put the disc back on tightens it up, and hey presto SORTED! can't believe the mechanic didn't seethis! So tutty was correct, was doing the exact same as your mates! Haha cheers guys
