I got one.

Reads and deletes codes, but only codes that bring up an engine light, not small pending/intermittant codes.

It wont show boost/map pressure tho.

I use it to clear my EVAP system code that i get when it idles for a while, also use it for the gauges, air intake, voltage, etc...

would you recommend getting one for clearing codes and fault diagnostics?

Does it need to be hooked up all the time, if you don't want the gauge feature?

Have you got any pics of where you've mounted it?

Soz about all the qestions!

Its not great really, all you get is the P code, no description of what it is, but if you can get online with the P number and run a search you can find out what it is.

Mine is hooked upall the time, it sits in an acrylic bezel with the cigarette lighter was but it doesnt have to be hooked up al the time you can use it as and when you need it.

I only get the P code at the minute as i take it to a mate and he reads the code for me when needed.

How much did you pay for yours, if you don't mind me asking?

I paid a bit less as i bought it second hand from someone on here. But if you havent got a laptop its not a bad toy.

I'll get some pics up of it soon.

Not a bad piece of kit, friend has one in his VX220 however if its for faults, etc... you cannot beat a full diagnosic program like VAG-COM. Scan Gauge is good for show and to do a few minto things, doesnt show air flow, boost pressure, etc. (well doesnt on the VX)

Your right you cant beat a full diagnostics but for 80 quid it ain't bad,

It shows intake temp( how accurate i don't know) but the one thing i wanted was the MAP function but it ain't working.

No worries Phil just would like to see how you've mounted it thats all, And have you had to cut the fuse box/under tray cover to get it back with scan gauge still plugged in?

i see, i thought it should be pretty spot on as it's reading from the ECU effectively?

I might have a look at the weekend as when i tried it the other day it seemed as it was hitting the plug and stopping it going back far enough? it is supposed to be plugged into the purple plug?
