agree with acidstrato, my lcr was feeling like down on boost, no guage just felt slower to me and against mates car. i decided to get a n75 valve same as standard one , and checked my hose going to intercooler and found a wee chunk of hose was scraped out, so i wrapped the pipe with proper seal tape and hey presto car has gotten faster again. small air leak can reduce so much was shocking. my advice therefore the n75 is probably worth a change and also check for leaks mate. also maf, do some logs with vag com.. good luck.

Cheers mate, gonna get the N249 bypass'ed tommorow as ive been told it might be that and will check all the pipes aswell, then ill be looking in to gettin the n75 changed. if all fails ill borrow someones vagcom lol.

seems a waste of money to me? clutching at straws?

for curiosity, why do you suspect the n249?
you should have a read up on what the n249 does, can bypass it if you like

bound to be someone with vagcom local to you thats willing to run some logs for you, put a request out. save guessing?

I rung up a local remapping company and told them what was up and he said hes had cases of where its been the n249 has been making it lose 4-5 psi, my mates doing it anyway. Then yer if thats a no go then ill put out a request. cheers.

not to sure bout the n249 so cant comment really but like we said remeber to check more likely culprits.
leak, n75 as it controls boost and maf.

The mods are

Forge recirc valve
n249 delete
3" downpipe n decat on a standard system (both blowing )
Smoothed and drilled airbox with ramair panel filter
remapped

ko3s as standerd preety much the same engine as us

so you can hit 200+ bhp without a fmic

which takes us back to the point about the accuracy of dynos in general...its a dyno lottery

although to be fair if you didnt know, the Golf SMIC is twice the size of the Ibiza SMIC so cooling is alot better as standard

Blast from the past!, i found out it's the actuator playing up after all that so have to get a forge adjustable one.
