I do, but it's a DIY effort and pretty rough compared to the 42DD kit, which is very high quality.

A good example on my car - at Crail on the start line, outside temp was 22 degrees C, intake temp was 26 degrees (as displayed on the Scangauge II). By the end of the 1/4 mile after a full power run the intake temp was 19 degrees!

I tried the heat cycle method on the pads this morning (on a quiet country road) and it seems to have helped. I did:

5 x 60-10mph heavy braking with 1-3 mins cooling in between.

They feel a bit more effective at higher speeds now, not so wooden as they were before. I think the pad material is pretty hard and also because my car doesn't get used much it is affecting the bedding in.

All the EBC yellowstuff pads are out! I went to my local Euro Car Parts this morning and picked up a set of Pagid rear pads, which cost £18.90 inc.VAT. Tarox rear pads are £90!!! The Pagid pads look high quality, came with new bolts and 3M anti-squeal too.

I found part of the problem, the yellowstuff pads have been grinding against the bell and have worn a line away:

So with the EBC pads removed and the Pagids fitted (which went in easier than the EBC) I painted the worn line with caliper paint and touched up the caliper too which had some chips on it. The Pagid pads do not touch the bell:

Rear Pagids fitted and the new Tarox Corsa pads in the fronts (which also went in easier than the yellows), so the bedding in process starts all over again!

Should do, Pagid are OE pads and proper Tarox pads are made for these discs and calipers. I complained to EBC about the yellowstuff pads and they didn't seem that bothered really, didn't even apologise for damaging the bell on the disc.

So it turned out that my rear brakes were dragging on the bells when I did the Crail 1/4 mile ... that couldn't of helped!

Only did 2 runs, having never done the 1/4 mile before. Did a 15.3 then a 14.8 on the 2 runs then called it quits as my brakes were causing problems.

As much as it was not good having this problem its always reassuring to find the source of a problem.

Yeah, I knew something was up with the brakes, all sorted now though. The compound of the yellowstuff pads did not seem to work well with the Tarox discs, nor did any of the pads fit that great either.

Buy cheap buy twice I think the saying goes.

fair enough if that's your first ever 1/4 mile attempt and your brakes were rubbing, but I would have thought low 13's would be possible in your car!

Quite possible yes, need alot more practice at getting cleanly off the line, I reckon I wasted at least a second spinning the front wheels off the line!

After only 50 miles with the new Tarox and Pagid pads, the brakes are already feeling good, strong bite at most speeds now, no rubbing. The discs looks cleaner, shinier and better swept than with the yellowstuff pads. Overall I am happy with the new pads.

Good stuff Rob, was a bit concerned when you mentioned the lack of brakes at Crail

Aye, didn't know how little space there was at the end of the 1/4 mile and the lack of brakes at 100mph was rather scary TBH!
