SPORT AP Racing calipers are finally back on! After sending them off to BCS to be fully refurbished, 2 weeks (they quoted 5-7 days turnaround but they said they had a lot of trouble with seized pins and bolts!) later I got them back. Today I got them back on. Turns out the original hoses are the correct 570mm Cupra ones, so the calipers were a straight swap. Bled the brakes using the Gunson Eezibleed and Pagid DOT4 fluid, bled both sides of each caliper until no air bubbles, no leaks so all good to go! (don't worry I had an axle stand under the car, not using just the jack to support it ... I'm no rookie!) I lubricated both the pins and bridge bolts before fitting them so they shouldn't seize - hopefully!
I ceramic coated the calipers too before refitting the wheels so they are well protected, BCS give their work a 2-year warranty too.
I'm going to paint the rear calipers gunmetal grey tomorrow so they match the fronts.
The more I do to this car the more I quite fancy keeping it!
