Took you how long to do 500 miles!

I'm liking the BMW. You will miss the raw harshness of the cupra in no time, but comfort is always a welcome change.

Cheers all :) Alex - I'd covered 500 miles within a month of the rebuild but have neglected her a little since Vera arrived on the scene, the little hussy.

Saying that I did take the Cupra out for a small run this afternoon to blow out the cob webs and she's covered 850 miles now so well overdue mapping. It's the first time I'd driven it since I got the BM and was amazed at how old it felt compared - but so much more agile too.

Hey Tom

:) No she's just been sat patiently in the garage waiting for some attention.

How you getting on with the LCR?

Nice BMW that, inside is very smart. I would love having 2 cars, cos I am clocking 24 miles a day :(

Cheers. I got some funny looks at work when I was asked to go to Brussels a few weeks ago and opted to drive there instead of fly :D

Nice one, sounds good.

Finally given myself a kick up the ass and rang Bill this afternoon to get the mapping sorted, though he's booked up until October 10th so a little while longer yet.

I've also decided to swap out my Devil's Own WMI for the AEM kit while it's there.

Thanks.

Had a bit of a change of heart yesterday and decided to put Pedro into early hibernation for the winter, especially with the weather being so sh-t.

I'd intended to SORN the car over winter anyway and in all honesty I'm gaining nothing by having it mapped this late in the year as opposed to in the spring when I can get back into it properly and focus on some serious track time.

With my decision made, I gave it a good wash followed by a lick of polish and treated all trims/tyres/arches etc with dressing to bring it back up again, perfect timing to be tucked back in the garage ready for 2012.

Good call robbie, I had the exact same thoughts, there is no rush getting it done for winter is there! I will be aiming for spring time too.

Looking very clean, I have been neglecting the bodywork recently I dont think its been washed for 6 months lol!

It's been a little while but six months on and it's time to get Pedro back out to play again

Opening my garage for the first time in months this morning and still just as I left it back in September

After removing the covers I checked all levels which haven't changed a drop and was looking forward to starting it back up again in preparation for taking it back over to Badger5 next weekend, only to be greeted with a completely flat battery.

Hopefully get this sorted over the next couple of days so I can check everything fires up OK and get some fresh tax on Thursday, ready for my trip to Bill next weekend for the following:

- Replace Devil's Own WMI kit with AEM kit and solenoid to prevent any leaks when the engine is off
- Replace Forge UNOS MBC for E-Boost Street EBC
- Tweak existing remap to accommodate for the 1.9 rebuild, and override lambda sensor
- See what she can do on the rollers

I've been getting continual codes for my lambda for some time now which seems to be contributing to frequent stalling when pulling up to a standstill at junctions/lights and running very rich, with +25% fuel trims being seen. Bill has seen this on another Ibiza but it remains a mystery as to what might be causing it, after replacing the sensor with a brand new OEM lambda as well as all wiring back to the ECU. It might just be that the resistors uses for the N249 bypass etc have interfered somewhere, causing weird behaviour, who knows.

This is what I was seeing last year:

Code:
VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-S

Control Module Part Number: 6K0 906 032 AA
  Component and/or Version: 1.8L 20VT EU3 05 0002
           Software Coding: 10500
            Work Shop Code: WSC 12849
3 Faults Found:
16514 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: Malfunction in Circuit
        P0130 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean
        P1128 - 35-00 - -
17522 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor: B1 S2: Internal Resistance too High
        P1114 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

MAF has also been changed for a new OE unit.

Once this is sorted and back from Bill it's then over to my trusty tech Dale to sort the following little issues to get her running 100% for 2012 and ready to enjoy properly:

1. Fit new rear pads/discs
2. Paint rear calipers black
3. Fit correct OE fuel pump sender onto my LCR pump
4. Fit new external temp sensor on wing mirror
5. Uprate in-line fuse to battery
6. Replace front pads and skim discs
7. Refurb Compomotive MOs in anthracite and fit with summer tyres

Further updates to follow in due course
