question for you all?

the internal underseal which is applyed over some joining pannels, is this to help keep water tight seals?? and close any gaps??

just wondering if it can be removed also, with a wire brush on a drill?

lol

only problem you would face if follow your route bill for track goer, to hard core racer would be getting the car back to a spec to meet required regulations

your car would be illegal in combe regs already.
internal brackets removed which technically aint allowed.. (but everyone does, except me)

guess its if want to bend the rules bill, if can remove them and make it look like they where not there then who would know?

also the saying out of site out of mind, there is loads behind the dash and bumpers ect you can easy lose without anyone knowing

Its certain if you do that it'll be lighter when the metal work eventually rusts through

More power & heavier on teh brakes because weight loss isn't done :)

dash out is suprisingly easy, but seeeing as you want to keep your fan for demist it does make it harder - you'll want some poverty spec 1.4 parts for the replacement of the air con unit.

hard to make it out, but it's just a big piece of plastic lol.

more power, same weight as now... 12 lap races... should be ok on brakes for now. Not likely to last on anything much longer tho I dont expect, but brake limitation in the ocmbe series is tyre limited on traction. If I was on clio cup slicks I think my brakes would be more marginal... not like I am short of wheel space for things >330mm if I needed, just not had to.. (yet)

I do want to retain demisting for the UK weather. Fellow competitors who have fully stripped are stuffed looking thru fogged up igloos on wet races.

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra001.html

also can se above the boot has been lightened and is waiting a poly carb window

the boot lock has gone its way to, as you would be very surprised how heavy it is, and boot is now on pin's to close

i have made a carbon plate to cover the hole, and im going to get a sticker made to replicate the standard seat "s" so looks standard from far away

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra003.html

few weeks ago got myself another carbon bonnet as sold my first one and regretted it

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra004.html

gone is the pass mirror, and a carbon plate made again to cover

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra006.html

same will happen to the drivers, and a carbon spa mirror fitted

the doors have been well lightened, all motor removed, inner skins, door bars, and painted again ready for poly windows, and carbon doors cards

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra007.html

new (special) wheels 15x7 compomotive mo's now fitted with toyo 888

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra009.html
http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra010.html

also bumper mods nearly finished and ready for paint, and ducts making, the leon splitter will be going on as well

http://public.fotki.com/AndyDea/cupra/cupra011.html

and had these for a while but pic of the seats going in it

Really need to pop round to see the current progress, your doing exactly as I would do should I strip out mine... ditch everything, and I mean everything that isnt needed.

On previous race bikes I went to the extream of looking every in-needed metal tab, cutting down the subframe, removing every bit of un-needed wiring and even only useing 5 out of the 10 bolts to support the fairings!

Don't think I could strip out the Cupra though, like my homely comforts when driving!

So it really is just going to be a track toy then with the occasional road blast. Really fancy taking my Ibiza to the same extream but think i'll be happy with 300bhp and an interior and use it as a daily driver.

Suppose you have the Clio for all your other needs :D
