Ah cool, il have a go tomorrow then. I got the proper clips for the front fascia, now its very secure in its place. Bit worried about pulling it off... coz i need to re-positition my gps box, any tips? It took a good beating for me to clip the bugger into place so im thinking its gunna take a lot to pull it off... Currently its at the side, between the front dash and the glovebox...kinda dangling lol, i really need to shift the glove box.... any tips?

ok, im going mental.

Got a CD RW, put all me songs on it, put it in the cd player, and i cannot see an option to copy the songs to the HDD.

Can someone do me a quick retards walkthrough... iv looked in a manual i found online and it says they should be a square next to the song name when i go to "selection" menu. i click the square and copy across... but i see no square?!?? Iv burned the CD using real player, it its 100% burned an MP3 file, not converted it to something else etc.. any walkthrus? so i can do it step by step and see if im missing sumthing?!?!

Please help!! i got the unit so i didnt have to have all my CDs

If you did it right (not saying you didnt!) then when the CD is playing you hit selection and then you should see the songs on the disk, if you dont you may need to navigate folders (little icon in the top left of screen).
You can copy individual songs or whole folders by touching the box next to the song and selcting copy..... if you dont see the box next to the song then something has gone pear shaped....
I dont know what you are using to burn and how but i use Nero and i burn just as a data CD or DVD and that seems to work fine for me....

Weeeeeeee!!!

Sorted the little bugger out! Apparently i had to burn music as a DATA CD, not an AUDIO CD... seems odd but nevermind lol. Burned as a DATA CD, wacked it in the drive and i now see the copy button, nice!!! All sorted now!! Yey!

@SpursMadDave - Nice on e cheers, just seen you mention data cd too, i already sorted it but thats the thing, data cd not audio cd Cheers!!

Nice one, glad your all sorted out.... another top tip.... get some DVDRW and put one folder on them (mines called Music) then bung all the albums or whatever in that... then you can just copy the whole folder over in one go to the unit!! Ive got the 18GB on the RNS full and my 80GB iPod too..... I have to plan any trips in advance cos it takes me all day to decide what to listen to!!!!!!!

Right, tell ya what, the sound quality when playing from the HDD is extremely clear.

I thought it was my ears playing tricks on me so i bunged in the CD... it distorts when i wack the volume up. Went back to the same stuff i transferred to the hdd and WOW, crystal clear when i wacked it up, also skips tracks alot faster too, and ability to browse the songs and select whichever you want. Really awesome piece of kit, and i 100% recommend this for anyone!!!

OK, after several days working great, i turned the unit on and it says "please enter code". I asked the guy i bought it from, what happened? He asked me if i connected the SAFE pin wiring. I havent done this, so pulled the unit out and set to do this wiring thing. Although i have taken the quadlock out with all wires, i need to remove the 12+ red/yellow wire, put that red/yellow wire into a wire crunch so it splits then put it back and put the new split wire into the SAFE pin, this is to provide power to the SAFE slot.

I ran into a little issue, there 2 little pink clips above the wires, the i beleive is stopping me pulling the red/yellow wire out, however..i cannot get these pink clips out either? any help?

Im getting stressed, thinking of just taking it to the dealer.

Just reset the unit m8, happens to me very occasionally and i havent done any rewiring except for the ipod....
reset = the left 2 buttons at the top and the right most button at the top.... job done

you can also turn it off and leave it for the hd to run down (around 20mins), and switch it back on. should be ok.

MIne has done this maybe 3/4 times now... almost always when i get in the car after work... just hit the reset buttons and its fine in about 30 seconds.... I might look at changing the wires over as suggested if I can be bothered that is... I think it must be something electrical, either the unit or the ECU not talking to each other and thinking the unit is new...

Well i got it sorted (i think) id the wiring. basically you have to supply power to the SAFE pin. So thats why you have to split the 12+ wire ( put in a wire crunch/connector)

The Seat units come with a code pre loaded onto the system but without power to this SAFE pin, the unit will "forget" the code from time to time.

All seems to be working though, although the dude did tell me to reset the unit...but i dont think i did it right? which buttons is it again?

Also i read somewhere about a secret diagnostic menu in hdd, anyone know how to get this up?
