RNS 510 /MFD3 Firmware

Has anyone successfully updated their firmware to version 1100 or above on the SEAT Multimedia system, because I am struggling here.
I have borowed a VW (continental)F/W disc titled 004.597.302 and I have the V4 map disc for backup.
But when I install the F/W disc I get error 010306 and it spits the disc out ,wipes off my music and thats it.

You need the Seat firmware AFAIK. vwnavi.com wil help.

I have looked around for weeks for SEAT specific ones.It may be more a case of F/W title
Someone on here has done this update .
Ofcourse I have asked both SEAT and VW dealers and got the usual blank expressions.
In fact I ended up showing the VW service manager how to use the RNS 510

Know who you mean but I'm sure he said he had to get a Seat firmware disc. I've got the VW one so had no such probs.

martin i am aslo trying to find out the same. All the upgrades seem to be for the VW unit and I dont want to try using one of these discs as I dont want to break my unit. I have put a post up on VW navi but had no replies.... dont think people are as helpful as on here!! Any news let me know

martin i have been told that the most up to date firmware for the rns 510 - the seat version - is 1024, trying to find it but struggling

i have managed to get the 1020 firmware on a disc and it recognises it fine in my unit. The only problem is that it says the release date is in 2007 but the date on my unit (sticker on the bottom) says june 2008 so i assume it would have the lastest firmware from that date. My firmware is 0996 so im confused now. I saw this and didn't bother updating it as from the dates surely i would be downgrading it????

Yeah the F/W installed on my unit is 0996 aswell,and the build date is March 08.Confusing !
Doesn`t it make your heart race when you stick the disc in and everything goes black!!
Looking at the print off of the title page from the 1100/1102 F/W disc I have ,it lists 3 different models in the VwSwpartnumber:1T003560B / 3c0035680c / and 7L6035680c which probably explains why it won`t run on my 5P035680A .Hmmm! maybe a close escape there.
I`ve seen your posts on other forums ,your right they are not very helpful.

yeah i agree was bricking myself when everything just disappeared. I now have a copy of the most recent frimware for the unit. I am just trying to find out if it will work in ours. I have a feeling it wont but will keep trying. From reading other posts i dont understand why seat didnt include the sd card reader as it seems that this is the problem make it incompatible with all the updates.

I updated from 0996 to 1026 which I think is the latest seat version. The 1100 disk that I have does not have the seat number 5P0035680A in the version.txt file and I doubt very much it is in the 2660 release either.

The problem I have is that I have the V3 6317 maps and the only download for V4 6672 that I can find - what ever way I write the DVD the unit rejects it.

Yes I'd be very happy to do that - so I can avoid having to trash any more DVDs!

I have just purchased a Seat version and waiting for it to be delivered, not sure what firmware and maps are pre-installed but would like to make it up to date with firmware and maps.

Any information on this would helpful.

The other item i would like to do is fit parking sensors that display in the RNS 510 been reading in the VW navi forum but do not fully understand whats required. Has any one on here done any of this do you know?

downloaded the above firmware and it does work, have updated my unit no problem, cant see any difference though!!!

No not yet hopefully will be coming next week unless i've been stung that is!! ordered it through ebay!

With the downloads is a case of just download and burn to the same disc or self explanatory once downloaded?

think i know which unit you bought then as i was watching it.. if so was a good price!!! Yeah the downloads you save, unpack them, then you have to mount and burn. I just put them on a cd-r popped it in unit and it is just a case of pressing yes i want to update and worked fine!

Yeah it was a great price ! I'm just hoping it was not too good to be true. I was goining to get a vw one as they seem to go for a better price until that one came along.

Have you got the aeriel adaptor fitted and if so where did you get it from can't find any on ebay?
