You should hear it reversed with a high level of boost. Run mine that way permanently. :cartman:

mine too :D

What does it sound like ? According to my mrs it sounds brilliant and is very loud ;)

The reaction from pedestrians when ragging through london is comical.

take it out andy, it makes a good improvment if u r after dumpvalve noise. its only there to make it more quiet inside the car, alot of cars dont have them.

ive heard that when running these backwards, they can become prone to opening to early? like when your driving along, they can open and dump without backing off the accelerator, like they are too sensitive? anyone noticed that before?

Well its all due to how the boost acts on the piston, put your thumb in the bottom and press and it opens, put your thumb in side and press and nothing happens, in reverse you need a stronger spring. Although they can run both ways there deisgned to work 1 way.

the real question is actually which is backwards... some say the original is fitted backwards....

Well if thats backwards too then VW ****ed up havent they as there vavle was that way, its common sense on the the pressure acts on the piston, hence why it is designed for that way so they dont leak boost as mentioned, although they work in either orientation.

how can you locate the whistle to the DV ?

The only difference on my car is the dump noise. The turbo whistle is the same in both configurations.
