I am considering replacing my 18 plate Leon 1.8FR manual now 7 years old 48,000 miles on the clock.
probably one of the last 1.8s to come into the country if not the last. Very happy with it. I like the torque of the 1.8.
why was this discontinue?
The option would be a 1.5FR as the 1.8 is no longer available or a hybrid 1.4 or is it a 1.5? FR.
I see the hybrid is quoted at 205bhp , the non hybrid 150bhp against the 180bhp in my current Leon.
what experiences have others have of the hybrid? Would I miss the extra hp.
how do they work? There doesn’t seem to be any explanation in the Seat literature.
Is the ICE running all the time assisted by the hybrid or is it fired up when the battery is low or performance is demanded?
is the ICE motor disconnected from the drive In electric mode?
Does the drive hunt between the electric and ICE motor?
DSG gearbox. Is it a torque converter gearbox or an auto selected mechanical box?
Insurance. Are the insurance premiums higher for hybrids? I see that hybrids get written off very easily.
I have asked some of these questions to the Stealers salesman and he didn’t have any clue.
There are some good pre reg deals about what’s the difference between a 2024 model and a 2025?
Test drive tomorrow.
Comments welcome.
