Hi can anyone help please, just purchased a front wiper motor to replace my old one which has packed up on me. I have removed the wipers and was wondering how to remove the plastic seal on the windscreen to get to the motor, the plastic seems to be sealed to the windscreen, is it a dealership jobbie :-o model is ibiza cupra tdi 54 plate

Its just clipped into the bottom of the windscreen, start at one of the edges and work along pulling is upwards away from the screen, a hair dryer might help to warm it up a little.

What techie said, just persevere with it.
Is it the motor that`s packed up or has the linkage seized? The joint on the wing side of the linkage gets water in it which rusts up.. fixed mine last year.

Hi thanks for the help, managed to get the plastic of with no real drama, changed the motor units over but still no look :censored:, any ideas? Could it be the wiper relay?

I usually succeed by folding the wiper arms up away from the screen and wiggling the wiper arm from the blade end whilst it is sticking up.
It applies a different force than if you wiggle them when they are against the screen.

If they are really stuck then you may need a proper puller.

Thank you, wiggling as you said worked!
