before i done this i searched and searched for a guide to change the rear wheel bearing but to no avail. changed mine today so i took a few photos along the way to make a quick and easy guide for anyone to use! what makes life a lot easier is replacements come as a full hub. also the hand brake will have to be off for this so pop the car into reverse and pop a brick infront of each front wheel

step 1. jack up, remove wheel, place on axle stand for sturdyness

step 2. remove brake caliper and pads. to remove caliper there is two bolts, using a 15 mm spanner to hold the nut, then use a 13mm spanner to undo the bolt behind. see picture

step 3. after removing the caliper bolts, use a screwdriver (just what i found easiest) the pry the caliper away from the follower. once caliper is removed lift the pads out. see picture

step 4. using a tx bit (unfortunately the size wasn't on my tx bit so unsure of size) remove the disc retaining screw. (be careful as screw will be tight and dont want to round the edges off).

step 5. lift disc off. the disc may not just lift as it maybe stuck to the hub a little bit. to get it going i used a piece of wood placed of the disc and then tap with hammer going round the full disc until it was loose. the disc just lifts off without having to remove the caliper follower.

step 6. remove hub centre cap. i used a flat bladed screwdriver to get between the cap and the edge of the hub. i did have to use a hammer to get the screwdriver in a bit. go round the full cap and it should pry off once you can get the blade of the screwdriver in.

step 7. using and m18 spline bit, a breaker bar and a bit of scaffold tube for extra push remove the hub centre bolt. note the bolt will be extremely tight hence the scaffold tube. once you get it going the bolt will be tough to remove right until the end as they are covered in lock-tite

step 8. after removing the bolt the hub should just slide away. sometimes a bearing sleeve will come away from the hub and be stuck on, if this happens either grind off or split using a hammer and chisel. (luckily mine came away in one piece)

step 9. pop new hub on. (may need a tap with the bit of wood and hammer from earlier). replace the hub bolt (m18 spline) make sure its nice and tight then replace the hub cap.

step 10. replace disc and retaining scew

step 11. to push the piston back in you will need a caliper rewind tool

step 13. job done. stand back and admire job done

step 14. replace wheel.

there you go, bearing replaced. should take about 45mins-1hr to do.

Can I ask was there play in the old bearing or was it just making a noise? I have a rumble but have the FR booked in for a 4 wheel alignment check Friday cos I think it's out and the rear tyres have worn irregularly.

If it's not that then bearing next consideration.

Cheers Jimbo

Should tighten it to the correct torque setting , 180NM plus 180 degrees alot of load on those bearings

Does anyone know what size of bearing fits the 2011 LCR?
I have to change mine but there are 2 different sizes available. 32mm or 30mm hole in the center. How do i know which one to buy without taking apart and measure my old one?

The one with 32mm centerhole is 137mm in diameter, and the 30mm is a bit smaller, 136mm..

if you get engine code and check on part info for same and you,ll get right one....just got all mine and used eurocarparts, got hub for £62.00 a side
....would advise if doing ,do both sides ....and check on torque setting through seat as had several different settings fron 138nm to 180nm
