removal of sidelights

Been trying to replace the sidelights on my leon but for the life of me I cannot get them out. Having now lost various parts of my hand I've had enough:censored:

I've looked at all the various postings and despite using long nose pliers, screwdrivers, twisting the bit anticlockwise, turning the car upside down, knife, scalpel (you get the picture) they won't budge.

Anyone got any tips, pictures, magical powder etc to get these out.

Yep, they're a real bugger to get out. I used a pair of long pliers with a bent nose. Worked them from side to side until they came out. Scary, but not difficult.
