Model Year 21/22 Remote not working until car opened by keyless

Bit of a weird one, to me anyway...

Keyfob remote buttons don't work (or at least the buttons may be working but the car doesn't respond to the open, close or tailgate open buttons UNTIL the cars' been opened via keyless (with the door handle), and then the car responds to the remote buttons too? So I don't suspect the keyfob battery as it works perfectly once the car is open.

Has something failed, has a config setting been changed anywhere?

Seeing how easy and cheep it is to do a battery that would be my first port of call.

How far away from the car are you when it does not work? I've found the range to be very poor (inside 5M on mine). I put this down to making it more secure but would be interested to know if others are different as was used to being able to lock/unlock the car from a distance if need be.

Sounds like that's how it's meant to be. No more locking the car from inside the house when I've forgotten to lock it and already in my PJs

Well a new battery did (kind of) resolve the issue - the car is still asking for a new battery so I assume an 2 year old (but unused) IKEA CR2032 doesn't provide the full dose of required volts.

Still don't really understand why the key fob worked fine after the car was unlocked via keyless (from the same distance) when it wouldn't when locked, but elastictrickery has never been my gig.
