Remote Locking

I have a problem with my LC in that the remote locking/unlocking only works when really close to the car. I have swapped the battery for the one in my spare key for my Bora and still the same problem although the Bora one still works fine, so can not be the battery. The light flashes when a key is pressed and key starts car. Could it be the button part of the key is faulty and sending a low signal? how much are these?

Anyone else had experience of this?

you might need it retuning, with older keyfob transmitters if you tried to open it from too far too often they would start to lose sync with the cars reciever.

Bought new transmitter part of key today and tried to resync to car but failed. does this part need to be programmed into the ecu? I have vagcom (shareware version) can I do it with this if so what menu is it under?
