Remapping. What age was your car?

Hello.

Will shortly be buying a 57 plate petrol FR, manual, and it should still have 18 months Seat warranty. How old was your car when you had a remap?

If I got it remapped, would this invalidate the warranty and how easy is it for the Seat garages to find the remap come service time??

Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

Get it re-mapped via your local Seat dealer...
Warranty issues will not be a problem then ;)

Unfortunately hardly any dealers offer that service! Plus thats still no guarentee they will honour the wrenty on parts that may have been affected by the remap.

I had my first remap at about 6 months old.

If its a decent reap, then almost impossible to find (unless its still turned on and they drive it and notice the extra power in which case you would buy a switchable remap.)

Mines an 07 plate, had 14k miles on it when I bought it and remapped it about a week after I'd owned it. Bought it back in September so it was about a year old. I've since done 7k miles in it with no problems so far touch wood! :)

theres a skoda dealer in lincoln and a seat dealer in greater manchester who are the only dealers who offer REVO, however its not un-heard of for dealers to want to make a bit of extra revenue. REVO offer there own warrenty but as previously mentioned its nearly impossible to find a re-map via diagnostic gear, some can trigger a flash counter but if you dont know what your looking for - YOU WONT FIND IT :)
