i am looking to go REVO now i think, the main attraction being having it switchable with the SPS and also not ringing out every last bit of power. It seems to me from what i have read and seen and my own experiences with the 1.8 T, if you are happy to settle with say 180bhp and
290 ish torque then the car should cope well with it.
Push it that little bit further for the sake of a couple more BHp and a few more lb/ft torque and you suddenly start verging on the side of component's limits. my main point here being the Clutch and also intercoole etc.
so i think on my TDi i will go with a generic REVO code which still seems to get praised by lots, but is not pushing me beyond the clutches threshold etc.
as for traction, not an option as far as i have seen, compared the 1.8T the tdi puts its power down 10 times better than the 1.8t FR i had.
its funny really, its like when you go up santa pod and watch people with super high bhp cars, if you can't launch it and realise you have to drive it within the laws of physics then there is no point having it. I don't think the TDi's are too hard to control, you just need to adjust your driving style accordingly.
just got to save a bit for mine now, but would like it before i go to the ring again in april.
