I have a quantum map..... done by previous owner though so didn't choose it, but I'm happy enough with it :)

hello i am Ktune

just so people know i mostly only tune cars that will be an ongoing project with larger turbos or hybrids and its not as simple as 1st map i load will be 100% correct

these engines can be a real pain in the bum some times no matter how much you try in the mapping the mechanical components are not in sync and then i have to manually set the mechanical side of the engine and then get back into the software

all in all 1 car can take sevral sessions to get running to a standard that is of my quality

this is why i charge a 1 time fee and after the initial payment all further tweeks are 100% free other than your time and fuel to get to me

but the tweeks will only stay free aslong as the car is on its current hardware if you add a larger turbo or intercooler and want more from that car after the initial map was made perfect then another fee would apply just for my time but wouldent be anything major

as most peopel know i am only a hobby tuner and i do this for fun and my time to do this is very limited as i have a normal full time job and a family to look after

i do not have a dyno or anything like that as everything is done at home but i do tests on the road that i have 50 to 90mph points and i also know how much power a car is making from the speed runs i perform in my mapping process the only downfall is this is on the road and not the dyno so it can take a while longer to tweek than on a dyno

also if you come to me and ther is a map on the car and it looks like its within 10bhp of what i could do i would not take your money and would tell you that you are wasting your money as you will not feel a difrence

many companys will map ur car even if it makes lower power but then will say its made higher torq and midrage and the low in power at the top is to keep the engine safe

no matter who you go to they normally make up a bull s%*^t answer just to get you top pay them

i will give you a 100% onist opinion

also i dont really map just standard cars that still have the dpf as this will just cause more problems foir you and the results wont feel that impresive and you will just be wasting your money to have the dpf removed and then paying for a second mapping session

just so you know i have bought a welder and now im in the process of geting the welding 100% once i can do this i will offer a full dpf off and stage 2 mapping package

https://www.facebook.com/KTune.co.uk

and just remeber im a normal lad just like all of you if you serch for me around on the internet with teh ppd 170 you will see around 4 years ago i was asking the same questions as every one else is these days and you will see i dident no much and its been a constant battle to finde out what i actually know now and having experiance with two ppd 170's both running at over 289bhp on stock injectors i have a good idea how to get the most from the engine

any way cheers for reading and sorry about the spelling i had to kinda rush this as very busy

The thing is Kilner removing the DPF is illegal now so really what's the point of tuning this engine if leaving it in place causes more grief than it's worth?

289bhp impressive though I have to say

Hi all,

At some point in the future I will almost certainly map my newly acquired Leon FR 170 TDI. I have asked previously about who to go for but my question here is how do these PD170 FR's hold up to a stage 1 remap that may give 195-210bhp and 300-315 ft/lb? My main concern is of course the clutch. I only use the car to commute (60 mile round trip) and never done a track day in my life.

Jimbo

Ps 5 days into ownership and I bl**dy love it! :p

Had mine done and dpf removed . It had 220bhp ( rolling road tested)
I ran it for about 18 months with no problems . Clutch fine. Used to spin wheels alot in second and was hard to put power down but once going it was quick. Started to surge abit in the end but was told it was the variable vane turbo sticking. Traded it in in the end.
