How much did everyones insurance increase after a remap. M>y insurance is already pretty high need to work out if it worth it.

I was with Endsleigh, who eventually told me they couldn't insure the remap. So when I had it done, I switched to Budget. Fully declared, I'm now paying considerably less than I was before with the standard car.

As always, the advice is the same: Shop around.

That my friend is the biggest mistake you ever made...i could write a book on their inaccuracies, and failings to provide adequete cover..maybe one day after my several ongoing legel disputes with them are done i will :)

as for a remap...my option would be "what remap?" to be fair if you had a dink..would they bother checking the ecu for a map! i think not

yer tbh a think for the amount they get off people you would have to be really unlucky 2 get asked, not that I need to worry as mine isnt remapped so it is easy for me 2 say. Up to the person really best to tell the insurance just on the off chance they do but I doubt they will check really.

If you're referring to Endsleigh (which you highlighted in my text), then my experience with them is exactly opposite to yours. The only time I've ever been involved in an accident, they handled everything very efficiently and organised the court action against the other driver (which we won convincingly). My car was repaired quickly and to my complete satisfaction (the paint match was astonishingly good - it was an unusual colour on an old car, so it must have faded, but still the new bonnet was a perfect match).

They may not have been the cheapest, but I personally can't fault their service, and I was with them for many years.

Cost me an extra 50 for an LCR once I had Revo (after a bit of shopping around), Not declaring it is always a risk, if heaven forbid you invloved in a major crash with lots of personal injury claims, the insurance companies will be looking for a way to blaim the other driver (ie you!)

Cost me an extra £50 for 8 months to have me Beefa FR TDI 130.

I paid £490 at the beginning, so would be like £565 for the whole year.

I'm 23, 3 years NCB.

Custom code can be turned off by a laptop connected to ECU on a diesel by just changing the engine code in vag com. But i guess it depends on the incident on whethe ryou`ll be able to turn it off. I had an incident with a spin out on black ice last february and was able to turn custom code off whilst waiting for recovery truck. But then i guess if car had of been f**ked or I had of been f**ked then i wouldnt have been able to. It wasnt checked anyway.

I know people who have made insurance claims on their car with custom code installed and it has never been checked. Not even mileage was checked! However these were "damage to my vehicle no one injured claims"

If you hit somebody and somebody was killed then the cops would be over the car with a fine tooth comb and would pick everything up even a PD160 intake in a PD130 and try and screw you for it. So i guess its a better to be safe than sorry thing.

I put 312mm breaks on my beeza. Havnt actually declared them yet. Do you reckon the insurance should go down? They already saved my ass once with a wee skid on ice.
