I am getting my Leon TDI FR remapped tommorrow by Simon Coe. What is the highest torque I can go for without frying my clutch?

i believe it is 300 lb/ft max but better to get it around 280 ish gives you a little safety margin and from some of the comments from others who have been down this route you will need to change your driving style a little, change down a gear rather than just floor at real low revs it as i think this is what screws the clutch. what brake horse power due you reackon you will be getting 190 ish or more? let us know as i a thinking of getting mine done soon....

Yup 300 is the OEM limit, although mine was slipping a little at 285-90. Just change up later or change down if you want to boot it.

Let us know what the results are...bet you won't regret it tho!

Had it done, but its a bit wet for a good test run. The clutch seemed fine on the little run I did do though. So fingers crossed.
I will let you know how it goes if it ever stops raining.
Got it done through www.ccctech.co.uk and uses Upsolute files. Cost was £275.

It's not a custom map as such, but you can request changes to the stock map - for example you can have a stronger top end, or reduce torque between certain revs. Simon doesn't alter the maps himself, he sends the requests to Upsolute and they send him back the revised map.

I had my Passat done by Simon, and I wanted to be absolutely sure my clutch wouldn't slip (didn't want to fork out for a new one, and existing one is quite old) so had the torque pegged back between 2000-3000rpm.
Peak power at the upper end of the rev range remained unchanged, and I achieved 175bhp at the Awesome RR day, not bad considering the engine is on ~130k miles.

Unfortunately with time the clutch will wear away and you will get clutch slip. The clutch on the TDI 150 are a weak point.
