I am doing this early next year , Jabba have priced me a kit inc eurospec crank. Keeping same turbo so no more bhp but shed more torque and ever less lag( there is almost none anyway) .it would be tempting if I had it all apart yes.
fwd is the practical limit here tho, and althought a nice dollop of power and torque is possible, applying it to the tarmac is another challenge.
strokers and 400+bhp motors are in 4wd cars for road use, unless you are able to use it in a fwd car with sticky tyres, diff, and dry weather. You would get a broader power delivery which makes for a much nicer road car. Peak power with minimal powerband is just for dyno queens & bragging rights imho.
Think there probably refering to clived's old tt which i believe was a 2.2 or something like that.
Like you said 0.5mm overbore and longer stroke will do the job.
faster spool up not that it needs it imo!Can i ask why you are stroking the engine gizmo?

First of all there should be no real power gains as I'm not changing turbo, Low end torque will improve but have not figures yet, also the boost is coming in a little late now due to CR so combined with 2Ling full Boost/Torque will come in far earlier and I have no surge issues at all, The kit is Awesome and this I what I should have done from day oneSounds good mate, how much more power and torque do you hope to release?
Do you have a ported head and do you have ay issues with surge?
Ryan,Sams is the smaller turbo with a 47lb/min wheel.i've been out in this car and it spools like a ihi but with more top end grunt.the mapping on his car is excellent and a 2ltr conversion will be the icing on the cake for sureIs there any reason that why you are producing 420bhp when owens claim 475?
do you have a ported head/cams?The fact the car has spool up issues probably helps any onset of surge, you may find that it may happen with your extra capacity and compression.
