Hi There,
I have a 2003 1.4l Seat Ibiza and have noticed that when turning the ignition to the 'on' position a red oil light and immobilizer symbol illuminate in the centre square panel on the dash. These both light up for a few seconds and go out when the engine turns over.
Looking at the manual this appears to be normal for the immobilizer symbol however it's a bit vague regards the oil light, it does say that it will illuminate briefly but doesn't say what colour it should be (mine is red).
To be clear the light only illuminates for a few seconds in red and then goes out when the engine starts, it doesn't come on at all when driving (I have found lots of posts re the light coming on with an audiable warning but this has never happened to me).
Oil levels are all fine and the car drives fine too.
Only noticed this when looking through the manual to find out what oil to buy - I like to have some spare just in case and now have opened a can of worms and worrying about driving the car tomorrow!
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks
