Blade SEAT Gloucester, 30k service yesterday...
Windscreen washer pipe re-attached ok
split in n/s/f tyre noted
service carried out
...............when I got the car home I fixed the rear brake light myself, despite having mentioned it at reception in the morning. What did they look at in the 20 minute service it was booked in for. 30+ years ago that was something I as a 1st year apprentice could manage to check, unaccompanied, not very impressed.

Was not impressed by them at all when i was buying, hence why i travelled 3 hours away to buy from another dealer.

20 minute service? i bet they charged you for a full hours worth of labour (a 30k should be charged out at 0.9 of and hour = 54minutes)

20 mins was an "off the top of my head" guess, but not far wrong..

Including oil and filter, the charge was £110

Oh well. Its only money:cry:

Barretts in Canterbury. Good knowledge of the cars. Happy to do a deal. And threw in a few extras. Can't complain yet lol

*Edited* Gone completely the other way with this lot. Biggest waste of money going!

They dont listen to female car owners when they should. My car was taken in with what I described as an intermittent fault with my immboliser going into detail as to where, when and why only to be ignored and over-ruledby a service desk rep who then attempted to re code my keys and then had to keep it for 6 days as they couldnt start it. I was not given a courtesy car or apology, customer service a lot to be desired as they never called back when they said they would so I had to call for updates every day. In the end I did have to give it to them as with a fight they accepted I would not have to pay...They tried to charge me £84 for work that gave me the same car I took in. I still have the same problem now.

Had to get some minor bits for the missus Seat, nothing expensive. Parts guy was friendly and patient with my little bits and bobs, even phoned up their parts support center when trying to get the pins for the lock barrel single!

Shiny new franchisee that one. The same lot own the Mercedes dealer in Beaconsfield, which has has a longstanding good reputation. Would be good if they can keep that up - I might drive 30 odd miles to get mine serviced.

Can't praise these guys highly enough.

Took my 04 reg car there a couple of weeks ago to have a new key programmed. The final invoice was way below what I had been originally been quoted, they could have kept quiet as I would have been none the wiser.

A couple of days later I received a recorded delivery letter from them saying they had noticed that there was a recall outstanding and could I contact them to book it in.

When I called them I was given the date and time I requested and was even offered a loan car. I took the car in this morning and the recall was to replace all the coil packs.
As the job wasn't going to take long I decided to wait and didn't need the loan car but it was there if I had done. When they returned the car it had even been washed. I realise these guys want my business all the time and if they carry on like this they can have it.

Can anyone recommend a first class dealer in the East Yorkshire region? I am looking for one who can service the Exeo and the Ibiza....

Used to use Trenton in Hull until a couple of years ago until they gave it up, always had top class service, and purchased 3 cars from them.... Can't seem to find a good one now :(

Have no objection to traveling within reason for good service ;)

Sister in law took her car in for a service, then got a phone saying we have scratched your bumper, they sorted that out and also the scratch on the other side. Very helpful

I have just brought my first seat from them, so will keep you updated how I get on.

Listers Coventry not been great

Had my leon almost a year and I bought the car from listers. And the after service tbh has been in adequate to say the least. First issue was when I bought the car there was a noise from the back of the car that sounded like failed wheel bearings took it back a couple of dats later and turns out the rear tyres were steeped quite badly and the geometry was out. They wanted to charge me for the tyres. Now the car was meant to have a 100+ point check and when you check the depth you would check across the area of the tyre. The 2mm difference would have shown a obvious fault with the tyre. It's also a known fault with seat and known to rectify under warranty. After much battling the decided to change the tyres under warranty and rectify the geometry. Picked the car up to find they had fitted a pair of kuhmos tyres instead of the Pirelli pzero tyres that were on the car when I purchased the car. They were higher in road noise and the worst rated for wet. No where the same spec tyre as what was on there. The car drove like **** with them on, so after a full on row, even telling me that the kuhmo tyre is what seat recommends and fits even though it's only Bridgestone and Pirelli they use, it got to the point of me going to hand the car back to the finance company and walking away from the deal. They decided as a "good will gesture" to put Pirellis back on. My faith in the service was defiantly lacking in them after seeing there cutting corners on cost, how quick they try and charge the customer if they can, for what should have been warranty work, or remedial work before sale. And how they can spin bullshit so easily to wriggle out if something.
But I just hoped I didn't have to deal with them to often and that it was a one off. But it wasn't, my aircon pump had failed, took it in and there was a question over if it was under warranty, it was deemed to be, but there was a back order of a couple of weeks they said. 2 weeks spread to almost 3 months, during our hottest time of the year. I received no communication from them the entire time, no calls back when asked to just let me know what's happening and what they could do. The only time I got any response was driving over to them and going face to face to get a answer. Finally got it done and it works. Great.
Only had to go back for a service and they managed to loose the service book. Took a absolute age to get a replacement book and then it was only partial. So had to get back on to them until I got a duplicate of its full history. Then one day we get a puncture. Call into a tyre place to get it done and the locking nut key is missing. Now the only people to ever work on the car, change tyres is listers. Call them up to ask where it is and they had no idea why it's not in the car, explained that it was only them to ever work on the car or have reason to use the locking nut, they denied using the nut as they have a master set they use. So I state if you have not used it. Then it wasn't in the car when I bought it, eventually they agree to replace the locking nut and they will repair the puncture free of charge. Great I thought so mrs takes the car over they repair the puncture, tell her it's all done, she comes home I check the car for where they have put the nut. It's not there. Call them up and they say oh where only fixing the puncture there us nothing down for a locking nut. Don't get a call back further visits to no avail, when finally some one there says bring it back over so we can check what nut it is and we will get you another key. This has been going on for a couple of months at least. They say they will call once it's in. Now it's been a whole and still no call until recently regarding booking it in for its MoT, we tell them it's not possible to mot the car as it needs a tyre, but can not change it until they have sorted this lock nut key out. They say they are going to get back to me. They have no record of a lock nut, but again they will sort it free if charge, booked car in. Mrs takes car over at the time agreed. And they have no idea why the cars gone over to them and have no idea about this lock nut. By now my patience has wore thin. And said I just want it sorted, they then say ok we will sort it but I will be billed around the £200 mark for the removal of the old ones and new lock nuts. I'm not happy about this and argued the toss that they had already agreed to rectify it as it was there mistake losing the key or not supplying it. So they agree to remove them but the car will have to be rebooked and they won't put lock nuts back in just standard studs. Asked why they can not do a simple job now while she's there, and it's because they have lost the lock nut that fits my car in their master set, so will have to chisel them out. They then say they are not liable for damaging the wheel doing this. I refuse them to do this and state that if they damage the wheel rectifying there error that they would be responsible to rectify any damage caused. They then decide to source another master lock nut set from another dealer to remove them and fit standard wheel bolts free of charge but if I want lock nuts I will have to pay. I have to agree to this as the mot is due in the next week or so and I need to change the tyre. They pick the car up, remove the lock nuts and fit standard bolts, months after they initially said they were going to rectify it. And to boot half the wheel bolt covers are missing and they said they won't replace them. So now I have no locking wheels nuts fitted to my car and half the covers. To blatantly tell me they never use a customers lock nut key yet have missing keys in there set is basically bullshiting me. And to not rectify the problem correctly and basically offering a bad service to save a few quid is beyond me. Once my service agreement is up I won't be returning my car there that's for sure unless it's for warranty work and this 100% the last car I buy from them as when you buy a car your not just buying a car, your buying into the service they give you. And listers IMO have fell massively short. I understand some have had good service from them. But my impression so far of them isn't great in the slightest.

I feel for you, nothing worse then a dealer who don't give a damn. can you not take it to another Seat approved repairer in your area for future servicing and warranty work? we pick up a new car on Saturday that is some distance from home and they have told us we can take it to any approved seat repairer for any warranty work etc, so rang my local one and they confirmed there wouldnt be a problem

I would, but our next nearest dealer is Birmingham or Northampton so it's a bit of jaunt from rugby. We have a very good independent specialist here in rugby and once my service plan is finished with seat they will take over servicing for me. They use genuine seat parts so shouldn't invalidate the remaining warranty. Let's just hope I don't have any issues with the car in future.
