I haven't desided weather i should go 1.9 is it actually worth it..

I knw the current pistons are fine with the 350 power level i want but the rods are defo on the cars so is the valves..

So in a bottom end there is:
Cranks
Rods
Pistons
Cams

And In the cylinder head i
Inlet valves
Exhaust valves

Anything else

In the head there is.

20 valves inlet and exhaust
Cams chain driven then to cambelt
valve springs
Hydraulic lifters

Bottom end there is.
Pistons
con rods
crank
oil pump chain driven off the crank

Best way as you can get what is worn out and keep what could be ok,

£95 is good for a rebore dude, JE pistons are like £560 i think when i was looking a going 1.9 as they are a custom item if you see what i mean, i stayed 1.8 and went for some s3 pistons which were about £400

I supose on a Td05-16G it won't be all that Laggy would it..

So i could get the standard AUM piston but uprated the rods to suit? Would a Port & polish Be sufficent?

Id Defo be replacing

Rods
Valves
Valve guides & springs
Timing Belt & Tensioner
Bearings
All Gaskets
ARP HeadBolts
New Water & Oil Pump

Which valves should i replace? Exhaust or inlet?

Not to sure on the lag side of things to be honest, yeah you could do the rods to suit the pistons.

I'd replace the whole set of valves myself may aswell so them all at the same time but it's up to you.

Your list is pretty much there mate as what to replace, headbolts should be ok as std items no need to go arp i was told, i'll let you know how i get on!!!

yeah think il keep it a 1.8 20vt i reckon...

shall i get new shims or isnt it needed? when i take evertyhing out whats that red grease called..so wen i start to re-assemble everything

Shims?????

Now your asking a question, i'm not sure i was/assumed you just used oil to lube everything so it wasn't dry on intial turnover, i'm sure someone will confirm what it's called
or weather you need it

Yeah isn't shims that the Crank/cams Sit in ? And i can't get them mixed up

So its just Normal Red Lube grease..

Would LCR Pistons and Uprated Rods Be Ok...or should i just keep and clean up my Existing Pistons and match up with the correct rods...

I could stick the 16g But id have to Peg the torque which i don't want todo...

Big end bearings is what the crank sits in which you may aswell replace, could be known as shims but i've never heard it before.

More than likely mate yeah, hopefully my mate will tell me what to get!!

LCR pistons would be ok i'd imagine, i've gone s3 ones as they lower the compsression a little and should be ok for what i want.

Should be 19mm yeah but check to sure they match up,

I ain't got my bearings yet as my mate said we might need to grind the crank so we'll get bearings to suit it, so not sure how much they are going be.
