Rear Parcel Shelf Squeaks

Hi all,
Has anybody had this happen and know of a cure?

My shelf has got a life of it's own, some days it makes no noise at all, other days it won't shut up.

Please help it's driving me crackers!

May just be the heat causing the materials to expand?

Cooler days its contracted so dosent squeak?

2-3 inches each side of split silicone rubber tube approx1/4" od on my undertray helps, something similar for the shelf?

You could use some blue tac as a temporary solution!

Mine does something similar, ay first I thought my spoiler was loose as every time I went over a bump I used to hear a 'popping' noise. Then I sat in the back whilst my boyfriend was driving and put my hand on the parcel shelf to find out that it was 'jumping' every time I went over something and thats what the noise was.

Probably way off track here but have you taken the shelf out and then replaced it without making sure the rubber covered 'spigots' are pushed right back firmly into the brackets? It's possible to have them lying on the brackets but not properly engaged so the shelf can move around. Just an idea.

Thanks everyone, I will play around with it this weekend and let you know what it was..

I have to take it out every now and then so I bet I just didn't put it back in properly.
