hi all my rear middle seat belt has jammed and won't come down also on the same big bench the catch won't lock shut does any one no how to repair either ?
Just looked at the rear seat and the bottom bench is loose, so seems it should clip back in place...therfore the back rest should fit/lock into place.....in theory.

Hi, I had the same problem, could not get the middle seat belt to work. Stripped the seat down to the bear bones. took out the old seat belt. broke it while doing so. brought a new one and when i fit it same problem. Then I had to look elsewhere. I found out that my rear seat was not engaged properly. the seat was not going into the catch.there is a cable on the seat belt attached to the inside of the rear seat. Get the seat to sit flush on the catch and the seat belt will work .I with great care slightly bent the catch downwards so i could get the seat to sit flush and it cured my problem. you dont need to spend money strip it to the bear bones like i did, the problem is with the catch and it is really not that hard to do.
I hope this helps

The centre seat belt simply will not work if the backrest is not fitted in the car correctly.
Sort the latch that locks the backrest in place, and the seat belt will work.
Mine was going to fail the MOT (at different garage this time)...however in order for it to pass, they pulled/pushed as hard as they could until it latched into position....
MOT PASS......but it was recommend I shouldn't undo the clip into the folding position, so I will leave it as.
I pulled out the rear bench (like you do when lowering the 3:2 split seats) and removed the main latching bolt (17mm) which allowed the belt to retract back into the spool. slowly pulled it back out and bolted it back in.
