Rear jetwash not working

I have a Leon 1.9 tdi cupra and the rear jetwash is not letting out any water, so I'm guessing that the tubing has come off the jet as this has happened in the past, when it was fixed by the garage under warranty.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone knows how to get the plastic panel off so I can check if the tubing has come off or not & then put it back on. The panel is obviously held on with several clips, but there is no obvious way to release the clips.

Any advice would be helpful

Cheers

To remove the boot trim. First of all remove both the bulb access covers on the boot door. Then inside the handle recesses there is a screw in each. Remove both of these. Then grab the trim near the wiper motor bulge at the top, with your hands a good 1ft apart. This is the hard bit. Start to gently pull towards you. It's easier if you sit in the boot and start a rocking motion. Gradually pulling harder. Mine was very difficult to get off and needed a fair bit of force. Just make sure you don't put too much stress at any one point and be careful not to break the clips underneath. Once off you will see if the hose is off at the wiper point but it may have burst somewere else.

HTH :)

:(

I tried to have a go at what you suggested r6_allan, but I just couldn't get the panel off the back. I heard it pop out of place in a few places on the right hand side but I just couldn't get the left hand side to budge.

The good news though is that I don't think there's any water inside the back panel of the boot, so I'm going to assume the fault is filling up my car with water somewhere else!

I might just stick to never activating the rear washer. ever.

If you have some of the right clips out then give the left a good hard yank. There is only about 4 clips on each side. Don't be that scared of snapping the trim. It is tough but be careful.

That is not the best sign if there is no water there. If the hose has popped elsewere it is harder to trace back :(

Hi Guys,

I had the same problem about 6 months ago, I just phoned up my local Seat dealer (Car Services In Forfar) and asked if they would pull off the inside panel for me.
I offered to pay them for their time, thinking that I'd rather do this than damage the clips myself, but they did it free of charge, so why not try out your local Seat Dealer, it's worth a phone call.

Hooray!

I managed to get that rear trim section mostly off, well.. enough to get my hand through and snap the pipe back into place on the rear wash unit.

All works perfectly now

Tends to happen a lot during the winter with the changing temperatures - although this 'summer' has been so up and down it's not unexpected.

I removed the boot trim without any problems today and discovered that the hose hasn't come off. Water is getting through with no problems, it's the plastic bit on the end of the hose that is leaking and spraying the water behind the boot trim.

I'll have to find a way of fixing this or get seat to order me a spare part.

hi folks, i know this aint the same issue, but the plastic nozzle on my rear washer has snapped off so the water just comes out all over the place when i try to wash the rear screen. Anyone know if i can replace the small plastic piece or if i have to buy the whole unit. cheers. p.s. its the external part of the water squirter with the little metal nozzle.
