My rears went at 20k and they are due for replacement again at nearly 40k. Discs were replaced under warranty at 20k, but nobody has ever explained why the rears have worn faster than the fronts. Fronts lasted until nearly 30k!
Mine is a 2.0 TDi Sport DSG.

think i would be able to get my rears replaced under warranty?
30k ish on the clock...

My mate who has just sold his 520 hp RS6 and has an A3 (flattened Altea....) is fitting 345mm at front - presumably these will go on Altea - alloy clearance allowing.

286mm rear disc upgrade.

Dont see how the larger would fit without moving the calliper out to accomodate then? sort of know what to do on the front, but not rear. From what igather the upgrade not hard and carriers the most expensive part of it all but worth the effort.

on Etka, the Altea page with the 255mm discs list 286mm as well. however this is impossible to fit unless the carriers were different. I honestly think Seat or ETKA have made a mistake on this page.

if you look on the Toledo rear disc pages, they list the 255 and 286mm as a separate pages with different part numbers. though 2 sets of pads have the same part numbers for both sets of discs.

I would love to know if it is possible to upgrade the discs.pads, splash guards without having to fork out for new calipers. anyone know?
