Rear ABS sensor change, - easy DIY job?

Hi all,

Ive got an ABS warning, (intermitent) and fault coding it points towards the offside rear.

After a couple of calls to my usual garages ive had the usual 'ooo we cant price that it could be anything..' (the sound of cash registers ringing in the background)

So id like to change the sensor myself.
But, is it an easy DIY change? would it be wishful thinking to think it would be a case of raising the car, unplugging a sensor and replacing it?

Anybody know of or can write a short guide?

thanks in advance all!

ok first looks, it does indeed appear fafirly straight forward, wire and sensor in place and held with one of those star shaped bolts.

Thing is, like many bolts on cars, when you undo it they can break - very easily...
Still, with the bolt removed the sensor is stuck in well and truely, and its a plastic housing so you cant lever against it..

damm it.

ok, so even my local garages dont want to know. - whats going on? nobody wants my money? madness.

Ok, so i may have to remove it myself.
How easy is it to get the sensor from the outside? ie can i remove the disk and push/knock the sensor out?

any help muchly appreciated!

You've got it...

remove the bolt & get in there with a hammer & screwdriver & batter it.

I think I even ran a drill into one once & then a few more holes & it came out
