Re map and 0-60

top end will not change though :(

Afriad your wrong matey :)

As the old 1.9TDi Sports (PD130's) gear ratio's wont allow the top speed in 6th due to lack of power, and higher ratio's. The top speed as standard is actually done in 5th gear (unlike the FR PD130)

Now due to increased power up to 4,200rpm as before the old sport would hit its top speed in 5th, once this is achieved in a remapped sport, if you drop it into 6th, it then gets back within the powerband (below 4k) and due to the increased power also in 6th, the car will again start to pull and achieve a higher top speed.

All of 2mph more

Yeah T.Spark thats right, apparently they are a thorough bred sports machine!! If you clutch it @ 4,200rpm in 6th it goes round to 150mph. Yours might get more with you having more power. ;)

Think you will find 150mph in 6th gear on a FR TDi is more like 4,700rpm

well that's sort of what I was getting at, your power goes up by about 30bhp, your 0-60 is loads better but the top end will not change

OK maybe 2mph  but you get what I was on about

I do speak from experience of a remap making no difference to top end BUT I'm talking about an astra CDTI

I look at it this way, a 1.2 can do over a ton with about 70 bhp

a cupra petrol has over 100 bhp more (more than double the power) but the top end is not more than double, it's only 40 or so MPH more
maybe people with remaps can clear things up and let us know just how much more top end they have now ?

Sound reasoning mate :)

Also very true

I was getting at the top speed of a PD130 Sport can now be reached in 6th gear due to a slight increase in power, rather than 5th like before :)

I ran a 14.7 with a remap running 170bhp, so was the 14.4 with a standard cupra?

Still a good time, I know remapped LCR hit around 14 dead, so not too far off with abit of practise, im happy with my time for the power and weight of the car tbh :)
