http://ratrod.photoblog.co.uk/ for all pics but for a quick (ish) catchup i guess i better start at the beginning huh ?
This is an old idea of mine i always wanted to do since i was knee high and having been bought up with mk1 escorts and cortina's ford pops and dragsters etc i guess i've always been old skool and love the old ratty rod stuff
Out walking the dog one night i walked past the local rockabilly's garage that my old man over the years had done tons of flathead engine parts for and decided to pop in for a nose around and see what he was doing at present when after a few beers and a 3 am finish helping him drop a '34 body on i ended up with this '27 model T roadster body as a return of favour
much to my mum's delight blocking up her driveway but i eventually got it home and as my garden is fully enclosed i have to get all parts through the front door and through the house so i laid it to rest on the back patio and sat back wondering what the hell i am going to do with it
After a few calls and deals and silly promises and too many late nights in strange garages earning favours i acquired some bits for my new baby - Ford Cortina subframe/axle + Rover P6 3.5 V8 Engine and autobox
So the whole thing started off right there on the patio with a few ill placed items and idea's that mainly sat in my head and even though safe up there, in all honesty it was complete unknown chaos
