ratteling back end

hi could anybody help me find what it is on the back of my leon tdi 150 its making a ratteling noise when i go over bumps and sometimes its quiet a load banging noise i have been under the car as it sounds like something is loose but cannot find anything also it seems to not do it with the brakes on which is a little worrieing i just want to know if any1 as had this same problem with the mk1

Your rear shockers are probably shot.

Im in the process of gettin mine changed,
I will let you know if it stops it.

no its defo comin from the bach drivers side some where i know 1 of the bushs sqeeks on the back but its not that thats doin the rattling sound i will try the shocks could you let me know how you get on please jason thanks guys always a great help comin on here many thanks again

sounds like the bottom connection on the rear shocks.. mine are shot too! need to replace them soon :)

problem solved turns out the caliper carrier was'nt put back on properly when it went in for rear disks and pads so it wont be goin back

I had a problem just like this, took me months to work out, and it was actually the lock on the boot, the spring had come loose inside the lock, could be worth a look. Or as I did, get someone to sit in your boot and pull it tight!
