I thought I'd try the new Mer windscreen coating. The Mer bottle is almost twice the size of the Rain-X and only a little bit more on the price.

Rain-X stopped working properly after about a week and a half, where as the Mer is still going strong some 3+ weeks later.

Give it a try.

Not abreviated, you know of Mer wax/polish well they also make a rain-x type screen coating.

Bought it at Halfrauds.

The coating of Mer that Fishy put on my car seems to still be working well after a week. Huge amounts of beading after I sprayed water on the screen to get rid of the bird crap. :D

Lidl had a windscreen treat on special last Thursday, I think its calleld nano system.
I bought it and it works very well, it's only about £5, it's in a black box if anyone is looking.

I did a bit of research into polishy type stuff for the windscreen and heard that Rain-X isn't all that good, water doesn't run off unless you're doing over 40mph, doesn't last long, smears when you've got the wipers on etc.

I've not actually tried the stuff myself, just other people's reviews I've read :)

Ended up buying some stuff in a pink dildo... Rain Wizard I think it's called. Seems pretty good, does what it says on the bottle! Don't think many places sell it, found some on fleabay from a shop seller, a motor factors in Somerset somewhere :)

carlack window sealant is the best product i have used yet . one application on all the windows on my car has lasted 4 months , except the windscreen which lasted 2 months---to be expected really , and gauging by the bottle it will last a loooong time
