Radio stuck in 'SAFE' mode

Hello,
I just recently got my Leon back from the Garage where it had had some body work done and the radio was already in SAFE mode, I know it has to be left turned off now in order for it to recet itself but how long does it take roughly? And is there a way I can cheat it?

no way to cheat it, it resets hourly, so watch your clock!

Are you meant to leave the radio off completely? I keep turning the power on and it is still in SAFE mode it has been 2 days now?

You need to turn the radio on and leave it for an hour then it will come up with 2000 i think and you can type in the code.
