Hi, I'm currently having a problem with the radiator fan constantly running when switching the ignition on, even before turning the engine on. Also the air conditioning isn't working and the heating controls don't light up. Any ideas as to what the problem could be here?

Thanks in advance. :)

Could be a few things. Faulty relay, faulty temp sensor. Are you able to have your car scanned by a diagnostic tool?

Well the fan goes on as a security for sure so that's not the problem, I would start with fuses check em all and then if they are all good try to see if your ac unit has failed by checking with another, do you have auto ac or normal?

You need a diagnostic tool and check the temperature readings the sensor is giving.
Another thing that could cause that is a short in the wiring or a stuck solenoid.

You are sort of lucky in the way the failure that you are experiencing as normally it is the engine cooling control circuit that causes problems - and that leaves you with a fan running continuously even after the ignition has been switched off.

So, from what you have written down so far, I'd think that it is the AC side of things that is causing this problem, fix that and the fan should stop running all the time.

Maybe, try unplugging the AC gas pressure sensor, you will find that on a metal pipe on the RHS of the car (LHS when looking back into the under bonnet area) just back from the coolant reservoir tank - I think, you will need to push that connector in slightly and then press down on its locking latch, then pull it off its mating socket - just a outside chance that that might do something, though I'd think that the problem is further back in the AC controller.

Hi, i've the same issue with my seat ibiza 2009. When i disconnect the ac in the dashboard, the fans will functiin without any issue. What can cause this problem?
