Hi

Ive spotted a Cupra for sale, and just wanted a bit of advise price wish.

Its a 02 Grey Cupra with 73,500mls on the clock, its in good condition, apart from a small dent on the front arch, they (being a trader) is asking for £7500, personally i think this is a little too much, having seen a Black one go for the same with 50,000mls on the clock (just missed that one :().

How is this price wise, and how much do you think it would cost to fix the dent, its on the lip on the wheel arch.

Im in too minds about this, i would like a Cupra, but would also like a vRS, and i could get a 40-50,000mls one of those in good nic..... aarrhhh.

Seems a bit high millage to me, I would wait a while as there are loads on the 2nd hand market. Vrs good car as well just ask Jason. Be sure to ask how loud the central locking is though ;)

overpriced IMO - an 02 will be pre-facelift - and i've seen 03 plates for around 8k with less mileage than that.

its probably didnt come from the factory as a face lift one then - if its an 02 plate its been modified to make it facelifted.
Earliest facelifts were 52 plates, IIRC??

I would be weary of that mileage for that price. If you do go for it make sure the timing belt has been done. It's a few quid if it needs it.

Thats what i was wondering, i was under the understanding that cambelts need changing at 70,000mls on the 1.8t engine, but they said that its the same engine as the TT, so only needs changing at 120,000mls, and only a check at 70,000mls?????

Am i correct, or them?

I HATE the fact VW say it should be changed at 120k. Thats rediculous IMO. I'd rather get it changed at 60/70k, purely as the cost if it breaks it a LOT of money.
Its supposed to be checked every 20k i think (from 60k onwards?)

The central locking comment was a joke - view the other threads on the subject and you'll soon see :bleh:
