Q about de-cat & engine management light

Hiya guys I need some advice, I plan to get a full cat back system (stainless steel) and also a de-cat for the car. Will I get the engine management light coming on because of the de-cat just doing some research before I get this done. Has anyone experienced this problem before? or the question is will the ecu light come on once the exhaust is fitted?

(this is for a turbo petrol car not refering to diesals)

Yes you will probably get a light up on your dash, unless your remap has altered this. Well thats the case on 2.0tfsi's anyway!

yes it has been mapped with IPRO tuning ...not sure if this will help.
If the light comes on with the cat off I think I i will tell him to put the cat back, don't fancy the light although maybe the vag com could disable this?

couldnt you just get your map adjusted so it doesnt throw up the light?
