I can't seem to get an engine reading from my vag com. When I try to read controller number 01 (engine) it scans and says controller not found. I can read controller number 03 (ABS brakes) which reads fine and a few others but not the Engine one which is obviously the one I want to mainly use.

Any ideas??

Using version 303 of the software

It could be the cable itself thats causing the problem. Could you connect before or is this your first time trying to connect?

What kind of interface?
What version of VAG-COM?
What kind of PC?

Not paricularly strange that it reads some modules but not other's if it's a cheap interface..:)

Of course, there could be other reasons too, such as a wiring problem on the W line between the instrument cluster and the ECU.
