problems fitting the 6 disc changer in the glove box

hi, i put a post up a few weeks back asking what disc changer would fit my lcr as it was removed by the previos owners. i bought one with the part no. 1j6 035 111 as i was told this would fit. just had it in and the damn thing is hitting the fan motor[:@]! so sticks out a good 4 inch.
can anyone shine some light on my problem please :help:

I'll double check the p/n on my changer when I get home, as it's sat in the living room, after I removed it, and put the extra cubby hole part in.

As for fitting, if it's the same as the original changer, can't see any issues...unless someone was telling porky pie's when they sold it ...??

cheers, the part numbers still on the back so should be the right one only thing i can think of is that my fan motor is different? :shrug:
The suround is around 2 inch away from the fittings ill try to get a picture up a.s.a.p

The cd changer i bought was from a mk4 golf not a leon. although the changer is the same the brackets are in a different place and needed moving back.
This is what the cd changer looks like when fitted in.

ill have a go at moving the brakets. mines from a mark 4 golf also. cheers

Yes mate its the same as mine, from a golf. If you look at the first two pics i posted you can see where i have moved the brackets to. Where its sat at the minute in your cars glove box is exactly where it should be. Think there is a hole on each side in the right place for the brackets. You will need the surround as shown in my earlier post, it just clips in after the changer is screwed in.
