Problem with clips on Team Heko wind deflectors

Hi guys,

I have used the search feature but haven't been able to uncover anything as of yet, although I am new here so I'm sure as soon as I figure out what I'm doing I will fine 100's of posts about this!

I have recently purchased some Team Heko wind deflectors and made a start fitting them last night. They come equipped with 2 metal clips for each window, so I followed the instructions and found that no matter which way I tried to fit the clip in the channel it would not fit. I finally got the clip to fit inside the channel so that it was not visible, until I put the window up and it popped back out.

So what I'm trying to get at here is what alternatives do I have? It looks horrendous with the clips on (I will try and post a picture if I can work it out) but without the clips I feel the deflectors may fly off. Is there an alternative specialised clip I could use, or has anyone else found an effective way of fitting them without the clips?

Thanks for you time guys

The clips just simply push up I used a large screw driver and a little thump it soon went in open/close windows a few times perfect

as above , I just pushed them up into the window channel , I used my finger to push it in then a screw driver to make sure it was fully in , there should be a small barb (pointy bit that sticks out ) that faces the inside of the car .
you will need 15 posts before you can post any pics

just found this for you , explains the fitting really clearly

The YouTube video above is exactly what I used to fit mine, it was a breeze.

What do you all think of the wind deflectors? I've got to say I'm not too impressed with them performance wise, can't see much of a difference.

Performance wise, no. They haven't made much difference.
Finding my car in a car park though, it has made it easier as not many people have them.
But having the window open a bit does now mean I don't get blasted with air.

If you drive with the windows open they make a big difference , there isn't as much wind coming in to the cabin , the rear ones don't make any difference really, also if its raining or has rained the window can be open a bit without the water coming in to the car which helps cut the steaming up inside aswel

Just been trying to fit mine to my mk2 FR. Fronts seem to fit ok but I'm not too impressed with the rears. Will have another go when it's a bit warmer outside and when I haven't got man flu.

Had a set on my MK2 for 4 years ish, no problems and just fitted a set to the MK3, both sets fitted as per the advice above, although on other cars I was advised to install deflectors, close windows and not to open them for 24 hours to mould the inner section to the frame of the window better. in cases where the windows would not close I've found that the retaining clip has not been fully pushed home or needs moving an inch or two to the position shown in the fitting instructions. HTH.
We have a big dog who likes fresh air and these allow the windows to kept open enough in all weathers to stop the windows steaming up too bad.
